Wow….I was seriously wondering if this post would ever come, but I am sure glad it’s here!!! Last week I finally completed my striped yoke top! Needless to say that I am a little…just a little bit excited. Why?!? Well this is my very first completed piece of clothing knitting wise. I mean, I’ve made scarfs and such but shirts?!? I never thought I’d be able to.
Now that I’ve finally completed the top and that I’m looking back at the whole experience, I’m not too sure why I was so freaked out about it! This top was overall relatively easy and would make a great first try for anybody. The fit overall is pretty good, I think the only thing I would do different would be to add a few inches at the bottom (I’m thinking anywhere between 2-4″) since I like my tops to sit a little lower. If I had put a bit more time into it, it wouldn’t have taken me so long to actually knit (overall it took me 2 months…yikes! But I’m not the fastest knitter and a sleeve actually took me one day when I put my mind to it….so really 2 months is way too long for someone that knows that they have lots of time ahead of them to keep busy with.
